Is anybody interested in being part of the statistics? Details refer to the following email:
We are members of a research team from Indiana University at Bloomington. The primary investigator of this team is Dr. Curtis J. Bonk; a professor in the Department of Instructional Systems Technology at Indiana University in Bloomington. Dr. Bonk is author of the book, “The World is Open: How Web Technology is Revolutionizing Education” as well as several other books and hundreds of academic papers and research articles related to learning with technology. As a follow-up to his recent World is Open book project, our research group is presently engaged in a research project on “Extreme Learning.” Briefly stated, extreme learning relates to how people learn or teach with the help of technology in non-traditional or informal ways. This area includes virtual learning and open education, adventure learning, language learning, and global education.

With IRB approval from the University, we are in the process of collecting stories of people who are engaged in online language learning. In particular, we are interested in capturing stories wherein online language learning has significantly impacted or changed someone’s life. Such stories might offer inspiration to other people. Your Web tools and programs have been extremely successful in facilitating language learning for a large number of people. We are fairly certain that some of these individuals have unique stories and learning experiences to share. We wonder if you can nominate some of those online learners so that we can contact them and interview them via email them for their learning stories and insights.

If you would like to contribute to this research, please reply to this email at your earliest convenience. Your help is greatly appreciated. If you are interested, we will share our research findings with you for your reference. By the way, if you would like to contact Professor Bonk directly and ask him questions about this project or his books, his email contacts are cjbonk@indiana.edu and curt@worldisopen.com.
